Product Review - The Matrix Yoga Mat
/Hi Friends! Sharing my honest review of The Matrix Yoga Mat.
A friend referred me to Matrix Mat Yoga as a Yoga Teacher that would be a good candidate to review the mat.

At first, I was a bit hesitant because I am not an alignment-based teacher, I am all about giving you the space to find your own alignment that works for your body and I don’t go too much by “perfect alignment” or how it “should” be. So when I saw that it was an alignment-based mat I was like oh boy! but you know what? I decided to try it and give it an honest review.
My findings: In contrast to what I find alignment cues to be rigid and restraining. I found practicing on this mat to be so much FUN!! Yup! Fun! I even told my partner as he was photographing me, “I’m having so much fun with this mat!”
The coordinates on the mat totally take me on a journey of self-awareness and curiosity.
All the different lines in the grid allow for different locations to step my feet, hands, knees, and give me different ideas to explore with alignment.
As I become aware of the different places I can explore, I get to adjust my foundation and body in a way that is sustainable for me.
Then I can make a mental note of where I'm at so that I know where to align my foundation if consistency is what I’m working on.
I don’t know why but my imagination went a little bit into Jumanji or Tomb Raider for some reason like I was in this adventure trying to solve a puzzle.

Material - 100% Biodegradable Natural Rubber Base — Non-Skid
Texture - PU top is non-slip, absorbs sweat.
Stickiness - Suction-like grip.
Eco-Friendliness - Eco-friendly polyurethane top, no harmful chemicals; no latex; odorless.
Price - $75. Very reasonable and on par with other high-quality mats.
Style - Designed to increase awareness, stability, and comfort.
So my honest review is, I really love and enjoy the mat, it does help me with awareness and opens up a whole new world of play with my practice. Although I’m not using it to find “perfect alignment” because that it’s not my intention, I am using it to invite more play and exploration in my practice.
